Wilson Vale gains Ipswich High School

Sep 23, 2020

We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Ipswich High School, a co-educational independent day and boarding school set in the impressive Woolverstone Hall. Previously catered for by an in-house team, we started our five year contract this September with the main aim of raising the standard and profile of the catering by training staff and reinvigorating the offering with our wonderfully creative Wilson Vale chefs.

Our newest partnership builds upon our strong presence within the south-east, though a first within Suffolk. Founded in 1878 and situated in a stunning 87-acre countryside campus overlooking the River Orwell, Ipswich High School provides an exceptional education, as well as a carefully coordinated pastoral offering, for every individual. Welcoming boys and girls from age Reception – 18, the School offers a magnificent historic environment with great tradition as well having a forward-thinking, innovative and personalised approach to their curriculum and enrichment offering. The happiness of pupils being at the heart of everything they do.

Alan Beddie, Managing Director, said “Our passion for high quality, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, creative and nutritious food and broader company ethos fits very comfortably with Ipswich High School’s own values. When working with schools, our goal is always to nurture a life-long love of good food that goes beyond the school years. Providing a balanced nutritious meal is key and especially important for young minds that are learning and growing. We are also very excited to welcome the transferring employees to our team and they will of course be a vital element of the ongoing success and evolution of this new partnership.”

Elizabeth Hill, Head of Finance and Operations at Ipswich High School, said “We wanted to offer our pupils an exceptional catering experience, and go beyond the traditional school lunch, to provide them with a gourmet standard menu. We are delighted with our partnership with Wilson Vale and both the staff and pupils have been extremely impressed with the outstanding quality and variety of food on offer. The feedback from parents has been exceptional, with many commenting on how enthusiastic their children are about the new school menu.”
