Our Innovation Award celebrates our sites that consistently think outside of the box on ways to engage our customers and put into practice innovative projects that push forward the high standard of our service.
The three finalist spots went to our teams at FujiFilm, Prestfelde School and The Hub at MAKE UK. Here’s a little more about these fantastic teams…
A formidable team who takes ingenuity and innovation to the next level, by creating an outstanding counter of food day in, day out working from a compact kitchen with limited equipment. Organised daily briefings and an eagle eye for detail have the team running like clockwork in the limited prep space.
The high standards keep on giving, as the daily counters play host to theme days and supplier taster tables on a regular basis, planned well in advance and delivered effortlessly. Every single one of Chef Graham’s team of five go the extra mile when it comes to customer service – nothing is ever too much trouble and there is always a fantastic buzz at lunchtime.
Serving up a theme day to captivate and excite around 500 students is no mean feat. So when, year-on-year, we’re blown away by this team’s spectacular Christmas extravaganza it’s something to take serious note of! Without a doubt, the Prestfelde Christmas themes have become legendary at Wilson Vale. Last year was no exception with ‘superheroes’ taking it’s turn as the theme of choice – the team were transformed with personalised cartoon superhero sketches, fancy dress and, of course, super-food!
Though being super is not saved only for Christmas, Spiros and the team have a passion and infectious enthusiasm for creating fresh and impressive menus complimented with on-point marketing. From broadening tastebuds with themes from around the world, to their famous Parent and Sports Teas, Open Morning bread making, Governors fine dining and knock out Speech Day food! Nearly 15 years on since our partnership with Prestfelde School began, the positivity that the innovative food offer spreads around the whole school and parent community is as strong as ever.
The Hub at MAKE UK
This seven-strong team consistently invent and deliver mouth-watering themes as well as showcasing superb kitchen craft for events and the daily menus. Creating food for engineering and manufacturing apprentices who love trying new food trends as much as the staple high street staples.
Keeping those ideas flowing, George and the creative crew demonstrate craft kitchen skills in abundance with the quality and quantity of the themes they roll out. From laminated dough, incredible street food, juice bars, well-being days, mouth-watering BBQs, Easter grazing, Greek Gyros, American smokehouse, Caribbean and Turkish menus to exquisite fine dining – this team always has something exciting up their (chef’s jacket) sleeves!
